AmbuNav consists of 5 destination lists (112 hospitals, burn centers, medico-sanitary transport, Total gas stations and other useful locations).Each list is automatically sorted by distance as the crow flies and can be filtered based on the name or an alias when there is one (searching for ‘HSP’ will for instance return the CHU Saint-Pierre).Compared to just using a navigation app, AmbuNav has the advantage of precisely encoded coordinates.
For 112 destinations for instance, the coordinates lead straight to the ambulance bay, which might avoid the uncomfortable situation of driving around the hospital looking for it.For medico-sanitary transport, the app supports the selection of a destination service in order to provide you with information on the selected service upon arrival, such as the route to follow, the floor, etc.
Data for this feature is still incomplete and mainly available in Brussels; be sure to help out the community by sending me missing services and any data errors you may come across by using the appropriate buttons throughout the app (context menu when long-pressing an item in the TMS list, notification action, …).
It is also possible to see information for a given unit via the “View services…” option in the context menu.Other features include:• An address scanner to scan faxes and quickly head to your destination• A floating icon when the app is minimised so you can quickly return to it• A toggle to choose between Maps and Waze for navigation• A manual navigation button to open the configured navigation app and input an address• Plenty of settings to tune the app to your liking• Pull-to-refresh to refresh your location instantly• By default the app keeps the screen on while in the foreground
